OK since we barely skimmed the surface yesterday, today we will buckle down and complete our lengthy note and consolidate our understanding of the Cold War and the issues surrounding Canada's involvement.
Learning Goal: I will understand why the Cold War was "cold" and the impact this had on Canada.
Minds On: What is a fallout shelter? Watch Bert the Turtle:Duck and Cover (Cailey, this one is for you!)

Consolidation: Debate "tug of war" - Do you think Canada was ever in any real danger? Support your answer on your post-it and place on the rope!

Learning Goal: I will begin to consolidate my understanding of the course by starting my Culminating Task!
Minds On: Review Ten Q's
Action: You will have the bulk of the period to complete your 3 questions. These must be completed by the end of the period. This will make up 10% of your culminating mark so you must use your class time wisely! You should also treat this like a test and therefore a "no talking" behaviour will be expected.
Consolidation: You must hand in your questions. If we have time, you can begin to write your answers on the appropriate chart paper!

Minds On: Filling out chart paper to consolidate all our questions and answers
Action: Choose your first question to complete a 9 sentence paragraph on. Using the graphic organizer, complete your paragraph. You must complete a total of three 9 sentence paragraphs on 3 separate questions of your choice. (note: We will write our intro and conclusion paragraphs on Monday)
Consolidation: Do you have three solid points you can explain? Be sure every piece of paper is stapled together and handed in!!!
